Chorlton Seafood Restaurant, Oystercatcher arrives at Sale’s Stanley Square

Not a week goes by that we don’t report that another gastronomic institution is planning to branch out into the Salé gastronomic district.

The latest restaurant to announce big plans for the area is Chorlton’s Oystercatchera glorious restaurant currently based on Manchester Road, dedicated to fresh, seasonal fish dishes cooked over coals.

The intimate neighborhood restaurant began its journey in 2018, creating a casual dining experience that caters to everyday lunches through celebrations and special occasions.

The mission of the restaurant is to share the healthy delicacies of the sea with guests and introduce them to fish dishes they may never have tasted before.

With a heavy emphasis on oysters, as well as charcoal-based cuisine, the restaurant has quickly catapulted itself to one of the best seafood institutions currently available in Manchester. Its menus change and adapt regularly to follow seasonality and sustainability.but there is always something for vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters.

The varied menus created by the wonderful chefs at the Oystercatcher include traditional British dishes such as sentimental fish and chips, as well as grilled whole catches and plates that have been influenced by various other fish-loving nations.

An example of this is the ever popular Arancinis with crab starter, which was influenced by the southern coast of Italy. Other dishes that the Oystercatcher will undoubtedly bring to Sale are the grilled sea bream and basshis Swordfish skewer and the panang currywhich is served with a fillet of sea bream, hispi cabbage, Jerusalem artichoke and fluffy basmati rice.

The restaurant also serves a great selection of local and independent beers, wines and even a cocktail or two if you have booked to celebrate a special occasion!

Oystercatcher has not yet confirmed the opening date of its Stanley Square restaurantbut we can be sure it’s headed for a triumphant neighborhood brimming with some of the best independent restaurants in the North.

Dirty recently hosted the likes of Green vegetables, Ashby’s Greengrocers, Sugo Pasta Cooking and by Rudy all of whom have brought their own unique recipes and exquisite dining experiences to the southern suburbs of Manchester.
