Famous seafood restaurant Keng Eng Kee will open a second restaurant in Tampines
One of Singapore’s most popular casual seafood restaurants, Keng Eng Keemust open at SAFRA Tampines soon. It’s an old-fashioned zi char (cooked-to-order) joint, and many loyal customers have enjoyed the moonshine treat (from $7.80), pork ribs in coffee (from $15.80) and har cheong gai (chicken with shrimp paste, from $12.80) for years at the original Bukit Merah venue.
Others also flock for the fresh crabs – they serve one of best chilli crabs in singapore – while offering an array of flavors like black pepper, salted egg and everyone’s favorite clay crab with beehoon.
For a simple seafood restaurant tucked away in an HDB estate, they have a number of accolades to their name. On the one hand, they received the Michelin plate since 2016.
Currently, the SAFRA Tampines branch is still in its soft launch phase, so you are not yet able to dine. It is, however, available for delivery through GrabFood, so you can order a feast to enjoy classic zi char dishes at home.
