Reacting to the post, a shocked Instagram user wrote: “No, that’s too much.” However, others were more enamored with the dining experience, with one chef simply saying “Yum”.

The duck dish was the third most expensive of those listed on Thursday’s menu, the most expensive being ‘duck breast, anna apples, cabbage and bacon’ at £26.

The second most expensive option was ‘pollock, three wedge leeks and mash’ at £24.

The restaurant, which opened in 2017, was positively reviewed in The Guardian by well-known critic Jay Rayner, who said the venue was a “class act” and described it as “smart and qualified with a few tables attached”.

However, Mr Rayner also took aim at the allegedly expensive wine list. A menu on the venue’s Instagram page listed prices for a bottle ranging from £27 to £72.
