Nostalgic seafood restaurant opens on Sullivan’s Island | Company

A new casual seafood restaurant now serves Sullivan’s Island. Sullivan’s Fish Camp is a family-friendly spot that serves dayboat seafood, cold drinks, and frozen cocktails in an old-fashioned fish camp setting.

Steeped in nostalgia and rooted in high quality offerings and local ingredients, Sullivan’s Fish Camp is deeply rooted in Sullivan’s Island and South Carolina.

Executive Chef Davis Hood’s menu offers fresh and playful interpretations of fish camp classics like fried seafood baskets, fresh crudos, oysters of the day, First Jetty seafood spins and lobster rolls. Fittingly, the dessert menu features a soft serve with extra nuggets – a seaside town delicacy. The menu is accompanied by a long list of cool drinks and beach-inspired cocktails from bar manager Jordon Moton.

The Basic Projects team, led by co-founder and creative director Kate Towill, lovingly restored the iconic Sullivan’s Seafood Restaurant, a family-run institution that opened in 1988, just before Hurricane Hugo hit and swept away. almost destroys the restaurant. Towill’s transformation gives the space a new look, while preserving the elements that endeared it to the community as a neighborhood landmark. As if you were entering the cabin of a 1970s sailboat, the dining room is furnished in marine-style lacquered wood. Floors are made up of bright yellow and cream checkered linoleum tiles, and a mix of vintage pieces and colorful, playful art and patterns bring a sense of whimsy throughout.

Sullivan’s Fish Camp is open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and closed Monday.
